San Jose, Calif. (Aug. 10, 2021)  Accion Opportunity Fund has named Anjana Berde, former Managing Director, Head of Talent Development & Learning for the Americas at MUFG Bank, as the organization’s Chief People Officer.

Accion Opportunity Fund* is the nation’s leading nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) providing small businesses—especially those run by entrepreneurs of color, immigrants, and women—with access to responsible capital, networks, and coaching.

Berde’s 25 years of HR experience spans a number of industries. Berde joins Accion Opportunity Fund with demonstrated experience developing mission and performance-driven human capital strategies. At Accion Opportunity Fund, she will be responsible for all aspects of the organization’s human resources strategy, including talent management, leadership development, compensation and benefits, culture, and diversity and inclusion.

Berde most recently served as Managing Director, Head of Talent Development & Learning for the Americas at MUFG Bank. Prior to that, she was MUFG Bank’s Managing Director, HR Business Partner Manager for Corporate Functions.

Prior to her time at MUFG Bank, Berde was Director of Human Resources at Tamalpais Bank, and also held HR roles at technology and construction firms. Berde holds a BBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She has served on the Board of Directors of Blood Centers of the Pacific, APPLE FamilyWorks, and JVS – San Francisco.
